For 34 years "The Lighthouse" has been a favorite of many for "down-home" country cooking.
"The Lighthouse Restaurant" actually got its start in May of 1968. Formerly called "Porter's Restaurant", it was owned and operated by Babe and Kathleen Porter. They started out wanting to serve short orders only. She would cook Country Ham dinners "with all those vegetables" for "work hands". The business grew and grew, with more customers seeing and wanting that good food. So that is how it all began.
In March 1985, the restaurant was bought by Mitchell and Norma Ervin and changed its name to The Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is still family owned and operated by the Ervin Family today.
